Black Russian Terrier

The Black Russian Terrier is a large, powerful breed that originated in the Soviet Union in the 1940s.

Developed by the Red Star Kennel, the breed was created to serve as a guard dog and military working dog.

Crossbreeding of Airedale Terriers, Giant Schnauzers, Rottweilers, and other breeds resulted in a strong, intelligent, and loyal canine.

The Black Russian Terrier is an active, alert breed that excels in obedience and agility competitions.

Their thick, wiry coat requires regular grooming and brushing to keep it looking its best.
