The Boykin Spaniel is a breed of dog that originated in South Carolina in the early 1900s. It was bred to be a small, hardy hunting companion for hunters in the Wateree River Swamp.

The Boykin Spaniel is an active, intelligent breed that is eager to please and loves to work. They are excellent swimmers and have a strong retrieving instinct. They are also known for their friendly, outgoing personalities and make great family pets.

The Boykin Spaniel is the official state dog of South Carolina and is recognized by the American Kennel Club. They are a versatile breed that excels in hunting, agility, obedience, and tracking. They are also used as therapy dogs and search and rescue dogs.

The Boykin Spaniel is a loyal, affectionate breed that loves to be around people. They are easy to train and thrive on positive reinforcement. With proper training and socialization, they make wonderful companions for active families.
