London may be one of the busiest cities in the world, but one of its most redeeming features has to be its dog-friendly nature. You’ll find London is surprisingly welcoming to our canine family members. With all the dog-friendly cafes, restaurants, and our dog-loving transport system, London is a great place to be a pet owner!

According to Greenspace Information for Greater London CIC, 2015, London is 47% green space, that’s an enormous amount of sniffing space for your inquisitive pets to explore.

We’ve been trying to find the best dog walking spots in London to take your best friend and this time, we’re writing about Chiswick House and Gardens.

We love Chiswick House and Gardens as a perfect dog-walking spot to stretch both your and your pup’s legs and to get some ‘fresh air’.

Chiswick House and Gardens is the perfect place to let your dog explore and you’ll never be short of other dogs for your pup to play with. Endless fun for your canine friend! You’re guaranteed a good view of all the scenery Chiswick House and Gardens has to offer before you return to London’s greyer palette!

Just a bus ride away from Turnham Green, Chiswick House and Gardens is a favourite for locals in Chiswick. Perfect surroundings for a picnic and away from the hustle and bustle of Chiswick High Road.

What’s nearby?

Aside from the lovely walks on offer, Chiswick House and Gardens is home to a lovely cafe with a dog friendly courtyard. There is also the annual Chiswick Dog Show hosted in the grounds which is always a good way to spend a weekend with your canine friend!

Chiswick House Gardens welcomes dogs but do have some specific rules with some no dog and some lead only areas. Of course dog waste needs to be cleaned up from all areas of Chiswick gardens with plenty of dog waste bins to hand. There is a lake area where dogs may enter, but we would always say to take cautions and in particular, you’re asked not to throw any objects into the water. There is also a walled garden where dogs are not allowed. In the gardens, other than assistance dogs, dogs are not allowed into the cafe – but there is a covered seated terrace which is perfect for you and your dog.

If you venture onto Chiswick High Road, you’ll find plenty of dog friendly venues such as High Road Brasserie and The Lamb (perfect for a Sunday Roast!)
