In 2012 Sam was diagnosed with terminal cancer, but this hasn’t stopped him from continuing his work. On the contrary, upon his diagnosis Sam announced he would donate his fortune (including his Simpson’s royalties) to charity, stating ” my rich man’s hobby, I should say, is liberating animals from abusive situations such as roadside zoos and circuses.”
