Paul O’ Grady has made a TV appeal to try and find a home for an agoraphobic dog from Battersea Dogs and Cats home who is too scared to go outside.
Whisper is a six-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier who was taken to Battersea Dogs and Cats Home when she was found cowering under a bush in January 2014.
Battersea suspect that she had previously been kept in a shed or indoor cage and used as a breeding bitch. Being kept in such tight confines for years may be one of the reasons Whisper is now terrified of leaving her kennel.
TV personality Paul O’ Grady has now joined the appeal to try and help find Whisper a forever home. O’ Grady already has his own popular reality documentary series, ‘For The Love Of Dogs‘, which is based at Battersea Dogs and Cats Home.
Battersea say they have never seen a case of agoraphobia as severe as Whisper which is why her story will be featured on the show on Thursday 2nd October.
The home are now desperately searching for a family for the shy Staffordshire Bull Terrier. Battersea workers say that she is a ‘gentle, loving, kind-natured dog, and she is going to make the most amazing pet for someone who has the time and patience to slowly build her trust and confidence.’ Whisper currently only manages to enjoy her daily outside play when the centre is closed to visitors for the day. She is frightened of people and other dogs but Battersea hope that Whisper’s story being featured on ‘For The Love Of Dogs’ will help her find the happy ending she deserves.
