Looking for flexible work to go alongside your studies? Fancy making a bit of cash working with other people’s pets?
Summer’s over. The car is overloaded, packed for the long (cramped) drive, and you’re ready to get back into the swing of uni life…
But, you’ve still not got a job sorted!
We recently spoke with Seraph, one of Tailster’s best loved pet carers, about how she made money caring for other people’s pets while studying at university…
So, Seraph, can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
Hi I’m Seraph, I’m from London and I’m a dog walker and cat sitter with Tailster. I’ve looked after pets my whole life. I had cats growing up and I’ve looked after lots of family friends’ dogs.
Why did you want to be a pet carer?
I did a lot of cat fostering with the RSPCA and I thought Tailster was a great opportunity to look after some more animals!
What have you gained?
You do develop really strong bonds. It’s more than a dog walker – dog owner relationship. It’s that trust that is so important, and it’s on both ends. It’s just really nice when they trust you so much; it is a friendship at the end of it.
Why do you like working with Tailster?
So, the great thing about Tailster is that it’s very flexible. You can quote for which job you want to do. And you can look after whatever animal you want to look after. You’re the boss, you’re in control. It meant that I could fit it around the hours I was studying. It was a great time to have some time away from studying and spend some time with animals!
I think one of the reasons why Tailster is such a great platform is that you have the reviews and the insurance aspect of it. Tailster is there to protect you as the owner, but also as the dog walker as well.
