Dog lovers prefer Gingers!

According to Dog’s Trust, ginger is the colour to be for our four legged friends! The charity has revealed that just three percent of their rescue dogs are either red, ginger or auburn and they tend to find their new homes three days quicker than average.

As well as some crossbreeds the typical redheads you will see would include the Red Setter, Rhodesian Ridgeback, Hungarian Visla, Pomeranian, Cavalier, Red Cocker Spaniel and many more.

Above are Amber (left) and Logan (right), two beautiful flame haired dogs that are looking for new homes with Dog’s Trust. Logan is described as ‘A little chap, he is a sweet boy looking for a calm patient adult owner who will help him settle in, come out of his shell and become part of the family’. Make sure you check out the Dog’s Trust site for more dogs that are up for adoption.

When searching for a dog to adopt, remember to do your research and find one that will fit in with your lifestyle and family. Don’t forget about the other colours either as they need loving homes too – just like this beautiful black Lurcher that found a forever home after being overlooked for 7 years.

It seems like blondes don’t have more fun – send us your pictures of your red-headed pooch!
