Social Media Crazy For Fat Cat Who Sits On Hind Legs

Every week, hundreds of animals around the world are taken to shelters by owners who, for one reason or another, cannot care for them any more. It’s heartbreaking but, fortunately, often results in an adoption and a second chance at life within a couple of weeks.

Whilst some animals take a little longer to find the perfect match, others get snapped up in a matter of hours, making it a guessing game for which will be the most popular and which will take a little more time.

Although it’s largely unpredictable, we have a feeling that this quirky cat will be snapped up in no time at all…

This 7 year old, 25lb cat has sent social media crazy with his fabulous preference for sitting up on his hind legs!

The Chicago native, named Bruno, has been getting a lot of attention since appearing on an online adoption ad posted by the shelter in which he’s staying.

The polydactyl Russian blue mix has gone viral since he first appeared on Wright-Way Rescue’s Facebook page, amassing thousands of fans who’d love to take him home!

Described as ‘too cool to be homeless’, the post has been shared over 25k times, with a similar 27k commenting their love for the adorable cat! It is believed that his craving for food has led to his ability to sit on his hind legs.

Speaking to WLS-TV about the curious cat, Wright-Way manager Jason Abbas has said:

“When I first met him, he was a happy, goofy guy!

Obviously he’s very food motivated, so of course he learned quickly where his food is up on the counter.”

The shelter has updated followers, explaining that Bruno has (unsurprisingly) attracted a lot of attention and that they are now in the process of reviewing all of his adoption applications to find the perfect fit!

Although he is said to be ‘high maintenance’, we’re totally jealous of whoever ends up taking Bruno home – we love him!
