Here at Tailster, we think it’s important you get to know the team so, over the coming weeks, we’ll be posting small interviews with people within the company. We think it’s a fun way to get to know Tailster a little better. If you have any further questions for Henry feel free to ask them in the comments below! 🙂
Tell us a little bit about yourself.
Hello! I’m the lead developer at Tailster, and I build and maintain the background systems that keep the platform running and working, from payment systems to the database and everything in between. I’ve been programming all over the world for longer than I’d like to admit – in New Zealand, the Philippines, and Taiwan, but the last few years have found me in London on a mission to help pet carers across the UK (myself included).
What do you love about your job?
Although we’re a small and scrappy team, we regularly punch above our weight. There’s always something to do and big challenges to tackle, and I love hearing stories from the Tailster users we help on a regular basis.
If you could save one person in the office who would it be and why?
I suppose I should probably say Indy, since he did hire me in the first place.
My cat Charlie is pretty cool. He was adopted from a shelter in Taiwan and he flew with me all the way to London. He’s bilingual, which means he can ignore you asking him to do something he doesn’t feel like doing in both Mandarin and English.
At the zoo, you’ll find me looking for red pandas.
Is there anything else you’d like to add?
Tailster has come a long way in a relatively short time, but there’s still so much more to do. We’re looking forward to delivering more improvements, upgrades and exciting new stuff for you guys!
