Having a pet go missing doesn't bear thinking about - we wouldn't wish that kind of experience on anyone.

The thought of having a pet stolen must be heart-breaking. Knowing that someone has actively taken them away from you and is holding them hostage is totally awful.

Hearing stories of pets going missing makes our hearts skip a beat every time - whether we know them or not - so it's only natural that we love a story with a happy ending...

Instagram cat Mr. Muk has been reunited with his owner after going missing two months ago from his home on Petherton Road, Islington.

Police soon began a search to find a suspect allegedly seen picking up Mr. Muk before boarding a train at Canonbury station.

A man has since been arrested on suspicion of stealing the Siberian Forest cat and remains in custody at a north London police station.

His owner, Izabela Mnich, who runs his Instagram account said she felt relieved to have been reunited with her beloved cat.

Speaking of the harrowing experience, Ms. Mnich said:

"He was so happy to see his favourite food. He's eaten a lot today."

Whilst the suspect remains in custody, he is expected to be charged if enough evidence is gathered.

At the time of the initial appeal, the Metropolitan Police's PC Jade Woodley said:

"Theft is theft and taking someone's pet because you like the look of them or consider them high value is a criminal offence."

We're just happy that Mr. Muk has found his way back to his owner and hope that he soon settles back in to his usual way of life!
